How To Override Your Password With a PIN in Windows 10

Remembering passwords can be a pain, but did you know Windows 10 will actually let you use a PIN number instead? Well, it does! And, it’s a breeze to set up. Be sure to follow along, as we’re going to walk you step-by-step below.

Setting Up The PIN

First off, you need to open the Start menu and click “Settings.”

Next, click “Accounts.”

Then you’ll want to select “Sign-in options.

And now click the “Add” button under the PIN heading.

Before adding a PIN, you’ll need to enter the current password you have on file for your Windows 10 user. Once entered in the form, click “OK.”

Finally, add your desired 4-digit PIN in the two fields, and then click “OK.”

Congratulations, you now have your PIN setup! Now, whenever you’re at the login screen, you can choose to enter into your PC via the entry of your new 4-digit PIN number, or can you can click an icon to go back to entering the traditional password.
