Pinterest: 5 Reasons Why It is Great For Job Seekers

We are all aware of Pinterest for our social/personal likes.  But it is also a growing platform for job seekers.  Pinterest is a great place to share your resume and get connected.  The site is growing daily and has become a branding powerhouse for businesses and marketers.  It provides a great place to showcase your skills and experience.  If you are not familiar with Pinterest, you should be and if you are looking for a job or are thinking about changing, Pinterest can offer another way to show off.   Here’s what you should be putting onto the site:
1.  Your Portfolio.  You can pin images of the finished work with appropriate captions.
2.  Your Resume. Pinterest is a visual medium so while you can pin your resume, you can also get creative.  Perhaps, pin pieces of it using images of events, clips, etc.
3.  Your Blog.  If you blog is relevant to you career, pin it.
4.  Your Interests.  Just like you list your relevant interests on your resume, you can pin them.  Want to move into an area you are interested in?  Pin.
5.  Your Industry Knowledge.  Pin conferences, speaking engagements, events.
80% of content on Pinterest is re-pinned, so generating your own content will help get you noticed.  Remember that your pins should be visual, appropriately captioned, incorporate the relevant keywords, have links to source websites, and give credit to sources.
